ABOUT ME

I am Timothy Batz, a graduate student at Cal Poly Pomona. I am working towards a master's degree in plant science in the College of Agriculture. My research focuses on the genetics and morphology of vernalization-induced flowering in Aquilegia (Columbine).

Over the course of my studies I've grown a fascination with modern agriculture; in particular the science and real world applications of genetics in plant improvement. Meeting global food demand while adjusting to climate change and population growth will be a major challenge in the 21st century. I want to join the community of plant scientists working together to promote and safeguard humankind's most vital activity-agriculture.
